Charlisa Holback

In Loving Memory of Charlisa Holback

August 31, 1990 – September 26, 2026

Charlisa Holback passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026. She leaves behind her only child and beloved daughter, Diamond Holback, age five; her loving mother, Martha Ann Smith; and a large family who will cherish her memory.

Charlisa loved the Lord and loved being in church. She expressed her faith through dance as a member of the praise dance team. She also had a beautiful way of staying connected to those she loved—often calling her family simply to tell them, “I love you.” Those calls and those words will remain in their hearts forever.

She is lovingly remembered by her sisters,Stacey Greer (Anthony), Erica Brown (Shawn), Special Holback, and Charletta Holback; and her brothers, Bernard Holback (Antonisha), Justin Holback, Charles Smalls Jr., Shannon Smalls, and Carlos Smalls.

Charlisa also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

Charlisa was preceded in death by her father,Charles Smalls, who passed away in February 2007; her sister, Angel Holback, who passed away on October 21, 2024; and her brother, Steven Smalls.

During Charlisa’s courageous battle with breast cancer that spread to her liver, her faith never wavered. Her words to her mother were always, “Mama, God got this.”

When God called Charlisa home, she answered His call. Though her family grieves the physical loss of someone so deeply loved, they find comfort in knowing her spirit is at peace and resting with the Lord.

Charlisa leaves a legacy of love, faith, strength, and the reminder that even in life’s hardest moments, God is still in control. Her mother will forever hold close the peace Charlisa gave her through those simple, powerful words: “God got this.”

Rest peacefully, Charlisa. You will be forever loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
